Microinfusion Skin Treatment

Microinfusion is an advanced skin treatment designed to improve hydration, radiance, texture and overall skin quality.

Using a specialised device containing ultra-fine needles, tiny controlled microchannels are created within the superficial layers of the skin while carefully selected skin-enhancing solutions are delivered evenly across the treatment area.

The result is a treatment that combines gentle microchannel stimulation with targeted topical ingredients to create fresher, smoother and more luminous-looking skin.

At SR Integrated Health & Wellness Clinic, treatments are selected according to your skin concerns following assessment rather than using the same solution for every patient.

Microinfusion may be suitable for patients wanting to improve:

  • Dull or tired-looking skin
  • Dehydration
  • Uneven skin texture
  • Enlarged or visible pores
  • Fine lines
  • Loss of radiance
  • Uneven-looking skin tone
  • General skin quality
  • Early signs of skin ageing

It can also be a useful treatment for patients wanting an overall skin refresh without the downtime associated with some more intensive procedures.

The device uses multiple very fine needles to create uniform superficial microchannels across the skin.

This controlled process allows an appropriate skin solution to be distributed across the treatment area while providing gentle mechanical stimulation to the skin.

The depth and treatment approach can be tailored according to the area being treated and your individual skin.

Although the treatments may sound similar, microinfusion and traditional microneedling are not exactly the same.

Traditional microneedling generally focuses more strongly on controlled dermal stimulation and collagen induction and may be selected for concerns such as acne scarring, texture and more significant skin remodelling.

Microinfusion is typically a more superficial treatment with a greater emphasis on delivering selected skin-enhancing ingredients while improving hydration, luminosity and overall skin quality.

We can advise which treatment is more appropriate for your concerns following assessment.

Your skin will first be cleansed and assessed.

The microinfusion device is then carefully applied across the treatment area, creating multiple tiny, controlled channels while distributing the selected solution.

Treatment is performed systematically to achieve an even application.

You may experience mild pressure, tingling or sensitivity during treatment, but it is generally well tolerated.

Microinfusion is most commonly performed on the face but, depending on your concerns and suitability, other areas may also be considered.

Your practitioner will advise which areas are appropriate during consultation.

Microinfusion generally has relatively little downtime.

Immediately following treatment, the skin may appear:

  • Pink or mildly red
  • Slightly sensitive
  • Warm
  • Mildly tight

These effects are usually temporary.

Because tiny microchannels have been created within the skin, appropriate aftercare is important and you should avoid applying unsuitable products immediately following treatment.

Patients may notice that their skin appears fresher, smoother and more hydrated as it settles following treatment.

Results vary according to the individual’s skin, the concern being treated and the treatment protocol used.

For ongoing skin improvement, a course of treatments may be recommended.

Microinfusion can be performed as an individual skin-refresh treatment or as part of a planned course.

The number and frequency of treatments will depend on your skin, goals and the treatment solution selected.

We will recommend an appropriate programme following assessment.

Microinfusion can form part of a wider skin-health programme.

Depending on your concerns, we may also discuss treatments such as:

  • Professional skincare
  • Chemical peels
  • IPL
  • Carbon laser facials
  • Microneedling
  • RF microneedling
  • Skin boosters
  • Polynucleotides

The most appropriate treatment depends on what we are trying to achieve within the skin.

Before treatment we will assess your skin and discuss your medical history, medications, current skincare, previous procedures and treatment goals.

Microinfusion may not be appropriate where certain active skin conditions, infections or other contraindications are present.

We will only recommend treatment where it is considered suitable following assessment.

You will receive treatment-specific aftercare following your appointment.

This may include temporarily avoiding active skincare ingredients, excessive heat, strenuous exercise, swimming and other activities or products that could irritate the skin.

Daily sun protection and appropriate skincare are important in supporting your skin following treatment.

With so many skin treatments available, it can be difficult to know whether you need microinfusion, microneedling, RF microneedling, a peel or another treatment.

You don’t need to make that decision yourself.

We can assess your skin, identify your main concerns and recommend the treatment or combination of treatments most appropriate for your individual skin and goals.
